Mechanical Infrared Moisture Balance: Stable Readings in Unstable Environments
A simple loss-on-drying moisture balance built around a mechanical weighing mechanism, so it stays accurate where vibration and motion disturb electronic scales. Measures solids and liquids at any operator skill level.
Vibration-tolerant: mechanical balance holds steady on vibrating lines, ships, and moving installations.
Direct reading: dry the sample, rebalance the dial, read moisture content immediately.
Broad materials: chemicals, pharmaceuticals, foods, pulp and paper, and polymers.
On-line process moisture analyzer. Utilizing smarthead technology, this system provides instant, non-contact, non-destructive measurement of liquids and solids.
May be mounted in any orientation. Small form-factor allows for simple placement when updating or retrofitting existing process lines.
Includes many of the features of our high-end system including external cooling, air purge and optical standard.
Replaced by the KB30.
Legacy desktop single-kernel grain and rice moisture meter. Replaced by the PQ520.
The PQ500 was Kett's first-generation desktop single-kernel moisture meter, measuring kernels individually and building a moisture distribution histogram for harvest timing, drying optimization, and lot consistency verification. Current production has moved to the PQ520, which offers expanded calibrations, faster throughput, USB output, and universal voltage.
Original single-kernel design: Resistance-based measurement of each kernel, with average moisture, kernel count, and 21-segment LED histogram display.
Four factory calibrations: Wheat, barley, rice, and paddy rice. Sample sizes selectable from 10 to 1,000 kernels.
Service and replacement support: Service and parts availability is limited for this legacy unit. Contact Kett for current options.
Motorized Rice Husker — No Longer Manufactured
The TR200 was a motorized rice husker for preparing brown rice samples ahead of moisture testing. It husked small paddy samples automatically, separating brown rice from husk so the sample was ready to measure.
Motorized husking: Pour in paddy and press start. The motor husked the sample, removing the manual effort of hand-husking.
Separated output: Brown rice and husk collected in separate trays for a clean, ready-to-test sample.
Overload protection: The motor stopped automatically if the unit bound on a hard object during husking.
Infrared Moisture Balance: Ceramic Heat, Fast Drying, Wide Material Range
A loss-on-drying moisture balance built around a stable ceramic heater, drying a 5 to 70 gram sample quickly without scorching. Reads moisture directly with selectable wet-base, dry-base, and solid-content output across one of the broadest application ranges available.
Ceramic heat to 400 °C: even, stable drying across a very wide range of materials.
Fast-drying mode: shortens measurement time without burning the sample.
Automatic zero-taring: re-zeros every 30 seconds to eliminate balance drift.
Ferrous Substrate Coating Thickness Gauge - Wireless - no longer in production
The best of the best, these test systems include the features of the 200 Series with the added benefit of radio frequency (RF) data transmission.
Test probes can be carried in a shirt pocket for the ultimate in portability. Data can be transmitted up to 1500 feet in an industrial setting, allowing the operator to test in any plant location and transmit the signal to the central storage/control unit.
Ferrous substrates can be measured.
