Multiple Components from a Single Near-Infrared Measurement

The KJT270 brought multi-component near-infrared analysis to the benchtop. Where traditional analysis means a separate test for each parameter, the KJT270 reads several organic components from one non-destructive measurement. Place a sample on the rotating turntable, and the instrument averages across the full sample surface and returns results in seconds.

Why Benchtop NIR Replaced Single-Method Testing

  • A separate test for every component: One near-infrared measurement returns moisture, fat, protein, sugar, fiber, and coating weight together, replacing the drying oven, Soxhlet extraction, and Kjeldahl digestion run one at a time.
  • Uneven samples: The rotating turntable measures across the entire sample surface, steadying readings on grains, powders, and granular materials.
  • Sample loss: The reading is non-destructive. Light does not heat or alter the material, so the sample can return to the batch.
  • Equipment and consumable cost: One instrument covers several methods, cutting reagent spend, chemical waste, and operator training.

Built for the Bench

The KJT270 stores up to 50 calibration channels, one per component, builds calibration curves through its PC software, and runs standalone once curves are loaded. Up to four components display at once on a connected PC, with password protection guarding stored calibrations. A tungsten lamp and on-board self-diagnostics support long service life. Every Kett instrument carries a One Year Total Care Warranty covering parts, labor, and specification compliance, with Maintenance Agreements available.

Service and Replacement

The KJT270 is no longer manufactured. The upgraded instrument is our KB270 Desktop NIR Composition Meter, which carries forward the same turntable averaging and multi-component measurement with higher precision and modern connectivity.
