KJT30 Compact Online NIR Moisture Meter

Compact Online NIR Moisture Meter: Smart Head Design, No Controller Cabinet

Moisture measurement on a running line, from a sensor that mounts over the product and needs nothing else on the wall. Everything the measurement requires sits inside the head itself, which is what made this the smallest online system Kett built.

  • Instrument in a Single Head: No controller box, no separate enclosure, no rack space. The head mounts on four bolts and reads directly.
  • Reads Without Touching: Measures from 170 mm above the line, so nothing contacts the product and nothing interrupts the process.
  • Expandable to 30 Points: Network up to 30 heads on a single line and add measurement points as the process grows.
  • Built to Stay in Place: Integral air purge, temperature compensation, and a dust and drip resistant industrial housing for continuous duty.

Continuous Moisture Measurement Without the Controller Cabinet

Online moisture systems usually arrive as two pieces: a sensor over the line and a controller that has to live somewhere. The KJT30 removed the second piece. The head carries the optics, the electronics, and a readout, so the entire measurement point is one compact unit mounted above the product.

Solving the Practical Problems of Online Measurement

  • No room for a controller: Retrofits fail when there is nowhere to put the enclosure. This head mounts on four M6 bolts in a 100 mm square pattern and needs no cabinet at all.
  • Readings you cannot see at the line: A three digit LED on the head shows the current value where the operator is standing, not only at a distant workstation.
  • Product you cannot touch or stop: Measurement happens from 170 mm above the surface across a 33 mm spot, with no contact, no sampling, and no interruption to the run.
  • Dust, heat, and drift: Integral air purge keeps the optical window clear, automatic temperature compensation holds the reading steady, and drift stays under 0.01 percent.

Built for Process Lines That Grow

A single head handles 15 calibration channels, each built by regression against your own reference values, with an offset correction available when line conditions shift. Up to 30 heads network together so additional measurement points are added without redesigning the system, and Kett Tracker software on a connected PC handles calibration, trending, alarms, and logging. Analog output drives your existing control system directly. The tungsten lamp and filter wheel are both field replaceable, with lamp life rated at 20,000 hours.

Each unit shipped with Kett’s One Year Total Care Warranty covering parts, labor, and specification compliance. Maintenance Agreements are available.

Service and Replacement

The KJT30 is no longer manufactured. It was also offered as the KJT30S for high moisture applications, covering roughly 50 percent and above.
