Description
The Reliable Standard for Small-Grain and Rice Moisture Testing
Anywhere small grains and rice move through harvest, receiving, or processing, accurate moisture measurement protects quality and locks in correct pricing. The Riceter FV201 covers the small-grain receiving workflow with six factory calibrations in a handheld instrument that goes wherever the grain is.
Solving the Small-Grain Moisture Workflow
- Receiving accuracy across multiple commodities: Brown rice, milled rice, paddy, barley, naked barley, and wheat each have a dedicated factory calibration. Switch channels with the select button, no recalibration required.
- Speed at the point of measurement: Twist the handle, press the measure button, read the result in about three seconds. Operators handle higher sample volumes without slowing the receiving line.
- Repeatability across operators and shifts: Automatic dual temperature compensation corrects for both sample and instrument temperature, so readings stay consistent across morning and afternoon receiving, between operators, and from one location to another.
- Pasta as an additional application: Some pasta processors and users select the FV201 as a portable alternative to a dedicated desktop pasta tester. The wheat calibration delivers usable readings on finished pasta, with some accuracy trade-off compared to a purpose-built pasta instrument.
Built for the Field, the Receiving Floor, and the Bench
The FV201 weighs about 0.44 kg (1lb) and runs on four AA batteries with auto power-off after five minutes of inactivity. The rubber-coated handle improves grip and wear resistance over the previous-generation plastic handle. The backlit LCD reads clearly in low-light receiving areas. Standard accessories include two sample trays, a spoon with tweezers, a cleaning brush, batteries, and a carrying case. Custom calibrations and maintenance agreements are available from Kett.
Measuring finished pasta or flour samples regularly? The PB-3100 Series Grain and Pasta Moisture Tester adds a built-in crusher and dedicated calibrations for flour, noodle, and pasta. It eliminates sample prep for higher-volume pasta and flour operations.
Need to test beans or larger seeds the FV201 cannot handle? The PM450 Instant Grain and Seed Moisture Meter uses a 240ml sample chamber and capacitance measurement to cover beans and a wide range of larger seeds the resistance-based handheld cannot read.
