FD230 Infrared Moisture Determination Balance

Digital Loss-on-Drying Moisture Measurement for Large Samples

The FD230 brought infrared moisture determination to a digital analytical balance, reading weight loss to 1 milligram and moisture to 0.01% on a sample as large as 300 grams. Programmable drying temperature and time, three measurement modes, and selectable wet-base, dry-base, and dry-matter readout made it a flexible bench instrument for moisture analysis.

Analytical Measurement on the Bench

• Wide sample capacity: handles 1 to 300 grams, useful where a representative sample is larger than a small-pan balance allows.
• Selectable resolution and basis: read moisture at 0.01% or 0.1%, on a wet, dry, or dry-matter basis.
• Programmable drying: set temperature from 50 to 200 °C and time up to 90 minutes, with time, continuous, and automatic modes.

Service and Replacement

The FD230 is no longer manufactured. The current Kett moisture balance is the FD800 Dual Control Moisture Balance, which adds non-contact surface-temperature control, faster mid-infrared drying, and PC and printer data output. Contact Kett for service options or help selecting a current model.
