Description
Fresh Concrete Moisture at Mix Speed
Moisture in freshly mixed concrete drives water-cement ratio, slump, and final strength. Get it wrong and the batch is compromised — but waiting for traditional loss-on-drying results means the concrete starts curing before you have an answer. The HI300 reads moisture content directly from a fresh sample in three seconds, giving batch operators and QC staff the value they need before the load leaves the plant.
Solving Common Fresh-Concrete Measurement Challenges
- Batch decisions without batch delays: Loss-on-drying takes hours. The HI300 takes three seconds. Test the mix, confirm the spec, release the truck. No hold queue, no batches sitting while the lab catches up.
- Consistency across mixes: ±0.5% accuracy with factory-calibrated concrete curve. Repeatable readings that QC managers can trust across operators and across shifts.
- Documentation and traceability: 126-reading internal memory plus RS232C output to printer or PC. Every batch logged, every reading available for compliance records or customer audits.
- Plant-floor durability: No moving parts, no orientation sensitivity. Vibration from nearby mixers or trucks does not affect the reading. The instrument lives where the work happens.
Built for Production-Floor Use
The HI300 runs on 100–120 VAC at the plant or six C-cell batteries on the jobsite. The included sample cup, carrying case, and reference standard make it ready to deploy out of the box. Integrated temperature compensation handles the swing between morning batches and afternoon pours, and a calibration check standard lets QC verify instrument integrity over the life of the unit. Optional VZ350 printer for on-the-spot batch records.
Need to test the aggregate going into the mix? The HI330 Aggregate Moisture Meter uses the same instrument platform with an aggregate-specific calibration to measure sand and aggregate moisture before batching — so you can dial in the water-cement ratio with confidence.
Verifying moisture in cured concrete or mortar? The HI520-2 Concrete and Mortar Moisture Tester measures cured surfaces non-destructively with six built-in calibrations covering concrete, mortar, gypsum, lightweight concrete, ALC, and calcium silicate board.
