Description
Aggregate Moisture That Actually Matches the Stockpile
Moisture in sand and aggregate is the single biggest source of water-cement ratio error in concrete production. Stockpiles change with rain, sun, and depth — and a guess based on yesterday’s reading puts every batch at risk. The HI330 reads moisture content directly from an aggregate sample in three seconds, giving batch operators a current value they can plug straight into the mix calculation.
Solving Common Aggregate Measurement Challenges
- Mix water adjustment based on real numbers: ±0.3% accuracy on aggregate readings means the moisture correction is tight enough to hold the spec batch after batch. No padding, no over-watering, no rejected loads.
- Stockpile variation across the day: Test top, middle, and base of the pile in under a minute total. Track changes through a rain event or a sunny afternoon and adjust before the next batch — not after the customer complains.
- Documentation for QC and customer audits: 126-reading internal memory plus RS232C output to printer or PC. Every reading logged, every batch defensible.
- Plant-floor durability: No moving parts, no orientation sensitivity. Vibration from nearby loaders or conveyors does not affect the reading. Built for where aggregate actually lives.
Built for Production-Floor Use
The HI330 runs on 100–120 VAC at the plant or six C-cell batteries for portable stockpile testing. The included sample cup, carrying case, and reference standard make it ready to deploy out of the box. Integrated temperature compensation handles seasonal swing, and a calibration check standard lets QC verify instrument integrity over the life of the unit. Optional thermal printer for on-the-spot reading records.
Need to verify the fresh concrete after batching? The HI300 Fresh Concrete Moisture Meter uses the same instrument platform with a fresh-concrete calibration to measure moisture in mixed batches in three seconds — so you can confirm the water-cement ratio held from stockpile to truck.
Testing moisture in cured concrete or mortar later in the workflow? The HI520-2 Concrete and Mortar Moisture Tester reads cured surfaces non-destructively with six built-in calibrations covering concrete, mortar, gypsum, lightweight concrete, ALC, and calcium silicate board.
