Description
See What Makes Up Your Product, Inside the Process, Not Just the Total
Most inline sensors give you one number: total fat, total sugar, total solids. The BSF1700 gives you the breakdown. By reading the full near-infrared spectrum instead of a few fixed filter bands, this inline analyzer resolves a combined measurement into the individual constituents behind it, in real time, from inside your process. Fiber-optic probes carry the measurement into places an open-path sensor cannot reach, turning periodic lab composition checks into a continuous stream of process data, without sampling and without sample preparation.
Why Full-Spectrum Measurement Matters
- Individual constituents, not aggregates: Resolve total fat into individual fatty acids, total sugar into individual sugars, or a blend into its multiple alcohol types. A filter-based sensor reports the combined value; the full spectrum separates it.
- Lab results arrive too late: Inline NIR measurement delivers composition data continuously, so you can correct a drifting process before it produces off-spec product.
- The product is hidden inside the process: Fiber-optic reflection and transmission probes measure inside dryers, convey lines, and liquid streams where no open-path lens can see.
- Calibrations are locked to one supplier: Build and refine your own calibration curves in the bundled PLS software with cross-validation, then load them yourself. No external chemometrics package and no per-curve service charge.
Built for Hands-Off Process Integration
The BSF1700 is a smart sensor that runs on its own, not a PC-tethered lab instrument. Develop your calibrations on a connected PC, upload up to 100 channels (three components each) to the unit, and it runs standalone in your process, measuring continuously without a computer attached. Continuous, command, hardware, and level-triggered modes let it measure on its own schedule or synchronize to your process, and a scalable analog output drives a PLC, SCADA system, or chart recorder directly. Remote SMA fiber-optic probes mount into your process with M6 fittings, and a waterproof LAN connector option suits washdown environments. The enclosed stainless and aluminum housing withstands dust and washdown, and the tungsten light source is rated for 20,000 hours. Resolution reaches 0.001% (10 ppm); how closely a reading tracks your lab depends on the precision of the reference method the calibration is built against, since any NIR analyzer can only be as accurate as the referee method for that product. Every BSF1700 is backed by one-year Total Care coverage: parts, labor, and specification compliance, with maintenance agreements available.
Need the total, or the breakdown? A filter-based analyzer like the KJT270F Inline Fiber Optic NIR Composition Meter reports a single combined value, total fat or total sugar, which is the right tool when one number is what you need. The BSF1700 reads the full spectrum to resolve that total into its individual constituents, including applications such as fatty-acid profile, individual sugars, or active pharmaceutical ingredient content.
Measuring product you can see, on a surface or over a conveyor? The BSR1700 Online NIR Composition Analyzer uses an open-path coaxial lens from a 50 to 100 mm standoff, suited to product visible at the surface rather than hidden inside the process.
