Instant Grain and Seed Moisture with Automatic Density Compensation

The PM400 measures moisture across a 240 mL sample of grain or seed and returns an instant, non-destructive reading. An integrated balance measures the actual density of each sample and a built-in sensor corrects for temperature, so readings stay consistent without sample preparation or a separate scale.

Built for the Receiving Line and the Farm

• Automatic density and temperature compensation: the integrated balance reads each sample’s actual density and a temperature sensor corrects the result, so the same grain reads the same across samples and conditions.
• One meter for the main crops: 12 factory calibrations cover the major grains and seeds, with calibration sets available for different commodity groups.
• Average out the scatter: store and average multiple readings for a stable figure across a lot.
• Tune to your reference: a per-product bias adjustment aligns readings to your own standard for local conditions.

Portable and Battery-Powered

At roughly one kilogram and powered by four AA batteries, the PM400 moves from the receiving pit to the field. Pour the sample, read the moisture, and move on.

Service and Replacement

The PM400 is no longer manufactured. The upgraded instrument is our PM450 Instant Grain and Seed Moisture Meter, which expands coverage to 39 factory calibrations spanning grains, coffee, nuts, and seeds. Kett continues to provide parts, service, and support for PM400 units already in the field.
