OT300 Rice Harvest Monitor

Rice Harvest Monitor: Field-by-Field Harvest Timing by Accumulated Temperature

The best harvest day is a moving target that changes field to field. The OT300 mounts in the paddy and continuously accumulates temperature after earing, so you harvest each field at its own optimal window instead of guessing from a single calendar date.

  • Field-by-field timing: tracks up to four fields independently, each from its own earing date, so adjacent fields can be harvested on their own schedule.
  • Clear readiness stages: on-screen READY, OK, and LATE marks flag the approach, the optimal window, and the overdue point at a glance.
  • Unattended in the field: pole-mounted in a weather shelter and battery-powered, it monitors continuously with no daily handling.
  • Memory-safe power: dual 9V battery design lets you swap a dead battery without losing accumulated data.

Harvest Each Field at Its Own Optimal Window

Rice quality and yield both hinge on harvesting at the right moment, and that moment is driven by accumulated temperature after earing, not the calendar. Harvest too early and yield suffers; too late and quality and shattering losses climb. The OT300 takes the guesswork out by measuring the one variable that actually predicts readiness, field by field.

Solving the Harvest-Timing Problem

  • Accumulated temperature, not estimates: the monitor sums temperature continuously from the registered earing day, the established predictor of paddy maturity, so the readiness call is based on what the crop actually experienced.
  • Four fields, four schedules: up to four field numbers are tracked independently, each from its own earing date. Adjacent paddies that eared days apart get their own readiness readout rather than one blanket date.
  • Readiness at a glance: the display moves through READY (approaching), OK (good through best), and LATE (harvest immediately) marks, so a quick look tells you where each field stands without interpreting raw numbers.
  • Set it and leave it: mounted in a north-facing shelter on its support bar, the unit runs unattended through the ripening period in the field it monitors.

Built for the Field Through the Season

The OT300 is designed to live outdoors in the paddy: pole-mounted in a shelter that shades it from direct sun, powered by two 9V alkaline batteries, with a dual-battery design that lets you replace a spent battery without losing accumulated data. Each field number covers roughly a two square kilometer area. It installs with the support bar set into the ground and the monitor secured inside the shelter, then tracks the season from earing to harvest.

Ready to confirm a field is ready to cut? The PQ520 Single Kernel Grain and Rice Moisture Meter shows the kernel-to-kernel moisture distribution, so you can verify a field’s moisture has tightened before you commit the harvester.

Need a fast whole-sample moisture check in the field? The PM650 Advanced Portable Grain Moisture Meter gives an instant moisture reading on a poured sample, anywhere.
