Analytical-Balance Precision With Predictive Drying

The FD240 paired a newly designed analytical balance reading to 1 mg with a 400-watt infrared lamp, displaying moisture to 0.01%. A large 130 mm sample plate handled samples from 1 to 300 grams, while four measurement modes adapted the drying process to the sample.

Built for Demanding Moisture Work

  • Analytical-balance resolution: 0.01% moisture and 1 mg weight, with measurement precision to ±0.1% on samples of 3 grams or more.
  • Predictive drying: a prediction mode that shortened drying time based on repeatable drying patterns, plus time, automatic, and comparative modes.
  • Programmable and documented: ten stored measurement-condition areas and RS-232C output to a printer or PC.

Service and Replacement

The FD240 is no longer manufactured. The current Kett precision moisture balance is the FD800 Dual Control Moisture Balance, which adds dual temperature control including non-contact surface-temperature sensing, programmable drying modes, and data output.
