Ceramic-Heater Loss-on-Drying Measurement for the Widest Range of Materials
The FD100 paired a 280-watt ceramic sheathed heater with an electronic precision balance, reading moisture directly by loss on drying on samples from 5 to 70 grams. Stable ceramic heat and a fast-drying mode dried a broad range of materials quickly without scorching, with selectable wet-base, dry-base, and solid-content readout.
Stable Ceramic Heat for Demanding Samples
- Ceramic sheathed heater: even heat distribution to 400 °C, the widest application range in the Kett moisture-balance line.
- Fast-drying mode: shortens measurement time by drying at an elevated temperature, then easing back to avoid scorching the sample.
- Automatic zero-taring: the balance re-zeros every 30 seconds, removing the zero drift common to electronic balances.
- Loss on drying: a primary gravimetric method measuring real weight loss, with selectable wet-base, dry-base, or solid-content readout.
Service and Replacement
The FD100 is no longer manufactured. The current Kett moisture balance is the FD720 Universal Moisture Balance, a compact benchtop unit with programmable drying programs and data output. Contact Kett for service options or help selecting a current model.
