KJT700 Online NIR Composition Meter

Online NIR Composition Meter — Production-Grade Multi-Component Analysis on Open Process Lines

Measure moisture, water activity, protein, fat, oil, sugar, solvent, alcohol, coat weight and film thickness simultaneously — continuously, on a moving production line, without contact or sample preparation. The KJT700 is the production-grade online NIR analyzer Kett has refined across thousands of installations: belt conveyors, screw conveyors, sluices and any process where the product is visible to the sensor.

  • Multi-Component Simultaneous Analysis: Measure up to 9 organic components in a single reading — moisture plus protein, fat, oil, sugar, solvent, alcohol, coat weight and film thickness, depending on configuration.
  • 0.1 Second Refresh: Real-time process monitoring at the speed of the line. Out-of-spec excursions trigger automated adjustments before product is wasted.
  • Production-Grade Construction: NEMA 12 housing, integrated air purge snout, optional explosion-proof and CIP configurations. Built for the harshest process environments.
  • 99 Calibrations Per Head: Switch between products, recipes or grades on the same line without rebuilding calibrations. Up to 32 sensor heads on a single PC connection for multi-point installations.

Description

The Production-Grade Standard for Online NIR Composition Analysis

The KJT700 measures multiple organic components simultaneously and continuously on open production lines — belt conveyors, screw conveyors, sluices, drop chutes, gravity feeds. The sensor sees the product directly, scans at 0.1-second refresh, and reports moisture, protein, fat, oil, sugar, solvent, alcohol, coat weight and film thickness in real time. Same online installation, full multi-component analysis.

Solving Production Composition Challenges

  • Spot checks miss most of your product: Pulling samples once per shift means 99% of production runs without measurement. The KJT700 delivers continuous, simultaneous composition analysis at 0.1-second refresh — every meter of product is verified, not just the sample on the lab bench.
  • Lab turnaround is too slow for process control: Running protein, fat or moisture in the lab takes minutes to hours. By the time results arrive, the line has already produced material against the wrong setpoint. The KJT700 closes the loop in real time, feeding live composition data directly to your control system.
  • Single-parameter sensors miss the whole picture: Most online sensors measure one thing. Coat weight without moisture, protein without fat, sugar without solids — incomplete data leads to incomplete decisions. The KJT700 measures up to 9 organic components in a single reading, against a single calibration, on a single sensor head.
  • Harsh process environments destroy lesser instruments: NEMA 12 housing protects against dust and water. The integrated air purge snout keeps the optical window clean even in heavy dust applications. Explosion-proof and CIP configurations are available for hazardous and food-grade installations.

Built for Production

The KJT700 measures across a 35–50 mm spot at 350 mm (optimal) focal length, scanning continuously at 0.1-second refresh with ±0.001% precision. Up to 99 calibrations are stored on each sensor head, and a single PC connection supports up to 32 heads — making the KJT700 the analyzer of choice for multi-point installations across complex production lines. NIR reflectance is standard; transmittance configurations are available for clear and translucent samples.

Kett refined the KJT700 platform across hundreds of pilot installations before commercial release — over 500 units were operating in the field before the first commercial KJT700 was offered. That installed base is the reason Kett can offer custom calibration development for new applications with confidence.

Each KJT700 ships with Kett’s one-year Total Care warranty on parts, labor and specification compliance. Post-warranty maintenance agreements and on-site calibration services are available.

Need lab-grade desktop verification of your process readings? The KB270 Desktop NIR Composition Meter brings the same multi-component capability to the laboratory bench, providing reference values for KJT700 calibration development and ongoing verification.

Need online moisture-only at a smaller footprint? The KB30 Online NIR Moisture Meter is the world’s smallest inline NIR sensor — moisture-only, smart-sensor design, no PC required — for applications where composition measurement is not needed.
