Direct Loss-on-Drying Moisture Measurement With a Built-In Precision Balance

The FD1B combines a 185-watt infrared drying lamp with a built-in precision balance, reading moisture loss directly from 0 to 100% without conversion tables. A 5-gram sample dries under the lamp while the balance tracks weight loss, and the result is read straight off the moisture scale.

Simple, Self-Contained Operation

• Direct percentage reading: the built-in balance shows moisture loss on its own scale, no calculation required.
• Adjustable drying: set lamp height to control sample temperature for different materials.
• Loss on drying: a primary gravimetric method suited to cereals, grain, flour, starch, dairy, confectionery, pharmaceuticals, and fodder.

Service and Replacement

The FD1B is no longer manufactured. The current Kett moisture balance is the FD720 Universal Moisture Balance, which adds programmable drying modes, a digital display, and data output in a compact benchtop unit. Contact Kett for service options or help selecting a current model.
