See What Decides the Grade
Rice grading turns on details that are hard to judge by eye under ordinary light: fine cracks, chalky kernels, discoloration, and broken grains. The TX200 Grainscope is built to make those details obvious, giving inspectors a clear, consistent view of sample quality before any number is recorded.
Solving the Visual Inspection Problem
- Backlighting reveals hidden cracks: the sample is lit from behind against a blue reflective plate, the combination that makes hairline cracks and internal damage stand out instead of disappearing under top light.
- Magnification for true detail: a built-in magnifying glass brings kernels up close, and the supplied fresnel lens allows comfortable two-eye viewing at magnification for extended inspection sessions.
- Directionality you can rotate to find: cracks and damage have orientation. The rotating sample holder lets the inspector turn the grain under the light so flaws are caught from the angle that shows them.
- Consistent setup, sample after sample: the sample holder and optional 50-grain holder present grain the same way every time, so inspections are comparable across operators and lots.
Built for the Inspection Bench
The TX200 is a compact bench viewer (162 × 134 × 80 mm, 470 g) that runs on four AA batteries for roughly five hours of continuous use, or on the supplied AC adapter for permanent bench installation. A 4W daylight fluorescent lamp provides the backlighting, and it operates from 10 to 40°C. It ships complete with the sample holder, 50-grain holder, spoon, fresnel lens, AC adapter, batteries, and manual. Always close the cover and switch off when not in use, since the lens can concentrate sunlight.
