Continuous Load Tester

Similar to the H18L, the H22 allows a ball indenter to be loaded in addition to scratch needle loading. Thin to thick film adhesion, real-time measurement of friction (due to abrasion), surface scratch hardness and tackiness can be evaluated by this system.

Description

Using two pulse motors, the mobile base (loaded with the test piece and the continuous loading weight guide) both move simultaneously.

The traveling scratch needle part is attached to a rotating arm, providing the ability to proportionally increase the weight capacity based on the vertical loading travel distance.

Starting with the the friction resistance in the low loading range, minute changes in the scratch and peel resistance can be directly identified through the scratch needle. This is due to the fact that the scratch needle mount incorporates a load converter that detects resistance.

In the friction and wear test, carrying out the measurement of the test piece under fixed and continuously increasing load conditions allows the friction resistance to be detected from the ball indenter.

Scratch and peeling resistance are due to the continuous loading. When the film peeling occurs, the adhesion is taken as the vertical loading force. The resistance is detected directly from the scratch needle.

Because needle tips are available from 5mR to 200mR, a wide range of films are supported: from thin to thick films and from soft to hard films.Due to the mechanical nature of the unique continuous loading mechanism, calibrations are needless and the system is highly reliable.

Two-way operation of the test piece causes friction; therefore, changes in the surface condition and the number of reciprocal movements required before film peeling occurs can be found from the increases and decreases in the friction resistance. By applying the specified fixed loading using the conical scratching, the size of the scratch width displays the surface hardness.

The surface adhesive strength is essential for film adhesion evaluation and can be assessed from the friction resistance.
