Objective Rice Freshness, Measured Kernel by Kernel
The RN820 is no longer manufactured. There is no direct replacement in the current Kett lineup. The information below is retained for owners of existing units, who can contact Kett for current measurement options and service support.
What the RN820 Did
- Per-kernel freshness by pH: a sealed optical scanner imaged the sample after a pH indicator treatment, and the software graded freshness on each individual kernel rather than the bulk lot, classifying results across a standardized five-rank scale.
- Readable, comparable output: results were presented as per-kernel values with a histogram and distribution chart, plus average, maximum, minimum, and standard deviation, so the freshness profile of a lot could be read at a glance and compared lot to lot.
- A common grading language: by quantifying freshness objectively, the RN820 gave suppliers and purchasers a shared, defensible basis for what had previously been a subjective call.
Service and Replacement
The RN820 was backed by a One Year Total Care Warranty covering parts, labor, and specification compliance, with maintenance agreements available. Owners of existing units can contact Kett for service support through our regional agents across the Americas, with calibration through Kett’s US and Tokyo laboratories.
