One Instrument for Every Paper Moisture Measurement
The HK300 measures moisture in copy paper, kraft, liner board, and cardboard in about three seconds, with no oven, no cutting, and no sample preparation. The handheld digital main unit pairs with your choice of three interchangeable sensors, so one instrument covers single sheets, rolls, stacks, and low-moisture board across the lab and the production floor.
Solving Real Paper Quality Challenges
- Slow, destructive moisture tests: The electrical resistance method reads moisture directly from the sample in seconds. Nothing is cut, dried, or altered, so testing keeps pace with production instead of holding it up.
- Samples that need different probes: Swap sensors in seconds. The grip sensor clamps single sheets, the conductive rubber sensor presses against rolls and stacks with no thickness limit, and the constant pressure sensor handles low-moisture board.
- Operator-to-operator variation: The grip and constant pressure sensors apply identical contact force on every measurement, so results do not depend on who is holding the probe.
- Specialty grades and local standards: Store up to 10 user calibration curves, adjust any factory curve with a bias correction, and set an upper-limit alarm for go/no-go checks on the line.
Three Sensors, One Main Unit
The HK300 main unit requires at least one sensor. Choose based on what you measure; many operations keep two or all three on hand.
- HK1 Grip Sensor: Single sheet measurement and compression testing. Copy paper 4 to 15%, cardboard 6 to 20%.
- HK2 Conductive Rubber Sensor: Rolls, stacks, and high-moisture products, with no limit on sample thickness. Copy paper 4 to 25%, liner board 6 to 23%, kraft 5 to 24%.
- HK3 Constant Pressure Sensor: Low-moisture measurement on a benchtop press. Copy paper 2 to 10%, liner board 5 to 15%, kraft 2 to 10%.
A Direct Upgrade from the K100 and K200
The HK2 and HK3 sensors use the same kraft and liner calibration curves as the K100 and K200 paper moisture testers they replaced. New readings remain comparable with your historical records and with the standards you share with customers and suppliers, so moving to the HK300 does not mean restarting your quality history.
Built for the Lab and the Production Floor
The main unit weighs just 0.5 kg, runs on six AA batteries with automatic power off, and stores 250 measurements with date and time. Averaging, alarm limits, and optional thermal printer output round out the quality control toolkit, and a carrying case and shoulder strap are included. The HK300 is backed by Kett’s One-Year Total Care warranty: parts, labor and specification compliance. Maintenance Agreements available.
Cannot touch the product you need to measure? The KJT130 Handheld NIR Moisture Meter measures moisture without contact: point the sensor at stationary or moving product and read the value.
Building your own calibration curves? The FD720 Universal Moisture Balance provides the standard method Loss on Drying values you pair with HK300 readings when creating user calibrations.
