The Reference Standard for Grain Test Weight Determination
Test weight (bulk density) is one of the first numbers recorded when grain arrives, and it follows the lot all the way to settlement. Inconsistent volume capture means inconsistent test weight, and that translates directly into grading disputes. The TM100 is built to take that variable off the table.
Solving the Consistency Problem in Test Weight Measurement
- Volume capture that repeats: the calibrated 1L measurement cup (1000 ±1 mL) and auxiliary measurement cup, when used with the supplied leveling rod, fill and strike off an identical volume every time, removing the operator-to-operator variation that plagues improvised methods.
- Built for the grading workflow: the funnel-and-shutter design pours a controlled stream into the measuring cup, and the three-pass averaging method produces superior results versus a single reading.
- Broad commodity coverage: any free-flowing solid that fills the measuring cup can be tested, so one apparatus serves wheat, barley, and mixed-grain operations.
- Nothing to break or recalibrate: the apparatus is purely mechanical. Precision (repeatability) lives in the machined measuring cups, not in electronics exposed to dust and humidity.
Built for the Intake Bench and the Grading Lab
The TM100 is a substantial, stable bench apparatus (350 × 456 × 480 mm, 19 kg) with a three-point leveling base, so results don’t drift with an uneven surface. It operates across a 0 to 40°C range. Because it pairs with any electronic balance reading 0.1 g to 2000 g, you determine test weight using a balance you already trust: capture the volume on the TM100, weigh, divide the gram reading by ten, and average three passes for the kg/hL result. The apparatus ships complete with both measuring cups, tray, plate and cylinder gauges, leveling rod, and manual.
