Dual-Mode Coating Measurement for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Substrates
The LZ200J measured coating thickness on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates in a single instrument, combining the electromagnetic induction method for non-magnetic coatings on iron and steel with the eddy current method for insulating coatings on non-magnetic metals. Readings were instant and non-destructive, with a built-in thermal printer and RS-232C output for transferring data to a computer.
What the LZ200J Handled
- Both substrate types in one unit: Magnetic induction for coatings on iron and steel, eddy current for coatings on aluminum, copper, and brass, using the LEP20J and LHP20J probes.
- Double the calibration memory: Stored four calibration parameter sets for each measurement mode, with ferrous and non-ferrous reference substrates included.

The LZ200J stored calibration parameters in memory, so repeat measurements on the same material started immediately at power-on. It ran on AA batteries or AC adapter for portability, held up to 1,500 readings across 99 blocks, and was carried in a soft case designed for use at the workstation or in the field. The LZ200J was covered by the Kett Total Care Warranty, including parts, labor, and specification compliance.
