LE200J Ferrous Coating Thickness Gauge

Ferrous Coating Thickness Gauge — Magnetic Induction, RS-232C, Integrated Printer – no longer in production

The LE200J measured non-magnetic coatings on iron and steel substrates, with on-board statistics, RS-232C data output, and a built-in thermal printer. It has been replaced by the L500 dual-mode coating thickness gauge.

  • Ferrous substrates: Non-magnetic coatings on iron and steel
  • Magnetic induction method: Instant, non-destructive readings
  • RS-232C output: Data transfer to computer
  • Integrated thermal printer: Statistics printed on the spot

Magnetic Induction Coating Measurement for Ferrous Substrates

The LE200J measured the thickness of non-magnetic coatings on iron and steel substrates using the electromagnetic induction method. Paint, plating, lacquer, enamel, and similar coatings on a magnetic base were read instantly and non-destructively, with a built-in thermal printer and RS-232C output for transferring data to a computer.

What the LE200J Handled

  • Ferrous substrate focus: Purpose-built for non-magnetic coatings over iron and steel, the most common production coating-inspection task.
  • RS-232C data output: Measurement data transferred directly to a computer for record-keeping and analysis.
  • On-board statistics and printout: Average, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, and sample count, printed directly from the integrated thermal printer.
  • Pass/fail limit alarms: Upper and lower limits sounded a buzzer and flagged out-of-range readings during inspection.

Built for the Shop Floor

The LE200J stored up to four calibration parameter sets in memory, so repeat measurements on the same material started immediately at power-on. It ran on AA batteries or AC adapter for portability, held up to 1,500 readings across 99 blocks, and was carried in a soft case designed for use at the workstation or in the field. The LE200J was covered by the Kett Total Care Warranty, including parts, labor, and specification compliance.

Need a current ferrous coating gauge? The L500 Dual Mode Coating Thickness Gauge replaces the LE200J: pair it with an EP-series ferrous probe for the same magnetic-induction measurement, now with expanded calibration storage, USB communications, and an updated statistical package.
