Description
The Dispa Dispersing Blade in the Blade System
A saw-tooth dispersing disc that puts intense shear at the blade rim: agglomerates break, pigments wet in, emulsions tighten. Heidon’s selection chart places it in the dispersing column for dispersing, emulsifying, and dissolving up to about 10,000 mPa·s. Above 30,000 mPa·s the Dispa cannot circulate the batch on its own; the chart pairs it with a circulation blade on the same shaft, and above that points to an anchor and Dispa multi-shaft configuration by consultation. Available in ø40, ø60, ø80, ø100 mm.
Choosing It Over the Alternatives
- Shear at the rim: the toothed disc works at the blade edge, where tip speed is highest
- Vessel match: above 10,000 mPa·s, choose a blade diameter of at least 60 percent of the vessel diameter; the size steps in this line exist for that rule
- Combination mixing: pair a shear blade with a circulation blade on one shaft when a batch needs both dispersing and turnover
In the Box and On the Shaft
