A near-infrared light source shines onto the sample surface. The light energy at specific wavelengths excites O-H bonds in water molecules, causing them to vibrate and stretch. This vibration absorbs energy from the light — the higher the moisture content, the more light is absorbed. The analyzer measures the absorbed energy and calculates the moisture value instantly. Each calibration is built against your primary reference method, so NIR results are directly traceable to the oven-dry or loss-on-drying values your team already trusts.
