Analog Moisture Testing for Compressed Hay Cubes
The MT8AH gave alfalfa cube producers and buyers a fast field check on moisture, with a four-needle probe made for dense compressed cubes and a color-zone scale that turned readings into instant accept, watch, or reject decisions.

Compressed alfalfa cubes hide moisture that decides whether a lot stores safely or heats and molds. The MT8AH answered that with a simple, rugged approach: press the four-needle probe into the cube and read the zone directly on the analog meter. The blue zone (8 to 10%) meant safe, yellow (10 to 12%) meant marginal, and red (over 12%) meant wet. Units still in service reflect a design built for years of field use.
The MT8AH is no longer manufactured. The upgraded instrument is our HB300 Portable Universal Moisture Meter, configured with a custom hay cube calibration. The HB300 adds a digital display, data output, and multi-product flexibility beyond hay cubes. Contact Kett to arrange the custom calibration and discuss replacement options.
