Conventional static friction testing locks you into the lab. Incline tables and manual strain gauges require sample preparation, fixed orientation, and trained operators. Four AA batteries power the instrument; an optional AC adapter is available for bench-top use. The brass slider (hard chrome finish) is interchangeable — swap to a rubber slider or six-point ball holder for samples where surface texture or contact geometry matters. Optional RS232 PC kit captures readings directly to a laptop for traceability. Carrying case, slider holder, and screwdriver included.
