A Benchtop Standard for Paper Moisture Testing
For years, the K100 gave paper mills, converters, and printers a fast, reliable check of kraft and liner board moisture. Using the electrical resistance method, it delivered a direct moisture reading in about two seconds: no oven, no sample cutting, no waiting.
What the K100 Did Well
- Two-second readings: Place the sheet on the insulation board, press the stamp-type probe against it, and read the result directly from the digital display.
- Direct percent display: Factory calibrations covered kraft paper from 5 to 24% and liner board from 6 to 23% moisture.
- 0-100 graduated scale: A reference mode let operators build correlation curves for paper grades outside the factory calibrations.
- Simple, portable operation: A single 1.5V battery powered the compact benchtop unit, with probe, insulation board, and carrying case included.
Moving Forward: The Same Calibrations, Fully Digital
The HK300 carries the K100’s measurement method forward in a modern digital instrument. Its conductive rubber sensor uses the same kraft and liner calibration curves as the K100, so new readings remain comparable with your historical records and with the standards you share with customers and suppliers. The HK300 adds user calibration curves, automatic data storage, averaging, alarm limits, and printer output.
Still testing kraft and liner moisture? The HK300 Instant Paper Moisture Meter uses the same calibration curves as the K100, so your readings stay comparable while you gain digital data storage and a choice of three measurement sensors.
