Wood Chip and Biomass Moisture, Measured in the Pile
Biomass fuel is bought, dried, and burned on moisture content, and a lab test is too slow for a delivery or a furnace feed. The MT200 measures moisture in wood chips and biomass directly with an insert bar sensor, reporting on the wet basis the energy industry uses, so the number on the display is the number that matters for heat value and combustion.
Built for Biomass, Not Lumber
- Reads loose material directly: the insert bar sensor pushes into a chip pile or hopper to read moisture where board meters and surface sensors cannot.
- The basis the fuel industry uses: reports moisture on the wet basis, the convention for fuel heat-value and combustion calculations, rather than the dry basis used for lumber, so readings translate directly to fuel quality.
- Material-matched calibration: two factory presets for cutting chips and crushing chips, plus up to 13 user-defined calibration curves for your specific feedstock.
- Process-floor practical: continuous measurement mode for repeated sampling, averaging, and an upper-limit alarm across the 15 to 55% range.
Built for the Plant and the Yard
The MT200 runs on six AA batteries, operates from 0 to 40°C, and reads to 0.1% resolution on a digital display. The bar sensor inserts into loose material for a direct reading, and user-definable calibration curves let you match the meter to your feedstock over time. Every MT200 is backed by Kett’s one-year Total Care coverage: parts, labor, and specification compliance, with maintenance agreements available.
