Description
Mixing With Compressed Air and Nothing Else
Where a spark cannot be tolerated, the oldest answer is still the simplest one: drive the shaft with air. This model runs a 0.3 HP air motor from a 0.5 MPaG supply, drawing up to 190 L/min at no load, and sets speed with a needle valve on the operating panel. It is rated 400 rpm with 1.3 N·m of allowable torque and a recommended working maximum of 280 rpm under load, for coatings, gels, and solvent-thinned creams. Oil-less operation is possible, and the stainless drill chuck stands up to solvents. The mixer shares components with the BL series, so the blades, shafts, and stands you already own carry over.
Solving the Hard Problems of Mixing Without Electricity
- Gears broken by overloading: The allowable torque is a real limit on an air motor; the model numbering makes it easy to pick the one with headroom for your material.
- Air mixers that arrive as a kit of parts: The separator unit with filter, lubricator, regulator, and turbine oil ships in the box with the hose, chuck handle, safety cover, and clamp holder. Shares its chuck and mounting with the BL line, so BL blades, shafts, and stands fit.
- Speed control with no electronics: A needle valve on the operating panel sets the speed, and the regulator in the separator unit holds the supply pressure behind it.
Built for the Air-Only Room
The air motor and gearbox sit in the same compact housing as the BL line. The separator unit conditions the air supply and can be converted to a free-standing type. Running beyond allowable torque can damage the gears, so match the model to the material: lower rated speed, higher torque. The mixer carries no hazardous-location certification or listing; it is offered on the basis that it contains no electrical parts. Part of the Heidon Three-One Motor line, manufactured by Shinto Scientific and sold and supported in the US by Kett, with every configuration backed by the One-Year Total Care Warranty covering parts, labor, and specification compliance.
Three ways to order. Motor Only is the drive unit alone, ready for the shafts and blades you already run. The P configuration adds the FS7 blade set and a 500 mm stainless steel shaft for a working setup out of the box. The S configuration adds the CS2 heavy duty stand, completing a full mixing station. The separator unit, hose, chuck handle, and safety cover are included with every configuration.
Working outside a hazardous area? The BL600 Laboratory Mixer brings a speed display, feedback control, and automatic reverse cycles to the same class of work.
Need more torque on air? The EPW400 Heavy Duty Air Motor Laboratory Mixer brings the BLW gearbox and a ø13 chuck to pilot-size batches.
