LZ200C Dual-Mode Coating Thickness Gauge

Dual-Mode Coating Thickness Gauge — Ferrous and Non-Ferrous, Integrated Printer – no longer in production

The LZ200C measured coatings on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates in one instrument, with double calibration memory and a built-in thermal printer. It has been replaced by the L500 dual-mode coating thickness gauge.

  • Dual mode: Ferrous and non-ferrous substrates in one unit
  • Two methods: Magnetic induction and eddy current
  • Double calibration memory: Four parameter sets per mode
  • Integrated thermal printer: Statistics printed on the spot

Dual-Mode Coating Measurement for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Substrates

The LZ200C measured coating thickness on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates in a single instrument, combining the electromagnetic induction method for non-magnetic coatings on iron and steel with the eddy current method for insulating coatings on non-magnetic metals. Readings were instant and non-destructive, with a built-in thermal printer for on-the-spot records.

What the LZ200C Handled

  • Both substrate types in one unit: Magnetic induction for coatings on iron and steel, eddy current for coatings on aluminum, copper, and brass, using the LEP20C and LHP20C probes.
  • Double the calibration memory: Stored four calibration parameter sets for each measurement mode, with ferrous and non-ferrous reference substrates included.
  • On-board statistics and printout: Average, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, and sample count, printed directly from the integrated thermal printer.
  • Pass/fail limit alarms: Upper and lower limits sounded a buzzer and flagged out-of-range readings during inspection.

Built for the Shop Floor

The LZ200C stored calibration parameters in memory, so repeat measurements on the same material started immediately at power-on. It ran on AA batteries or AC adapter for portability, held up to 1,500 readings across 99 blocks, and was carried in a soft case designed for use at the workstation or in the field. The LZ200C was covered by the Kett Total Care Warranty, including parts, labor, and specification compliance.

Need a current dual-mode coating gauge? The L500 Dual Mode Coating Thickness Gauge directly replaces the LZ200C: add EP-series ferrous and HP-series non-ferrous probes for full dual-mode coverage, now with expanded calibration storage, USB communications, and an updated statistical package.
