Description
The Butterfly in the Blade System
A wide, gentle profile that turns medium-viscosity material over without whipping in air. Heidon’s blade selection chart places the Butterfly in the anti-foaming column for syrups and shampoos around 10,000 mPa·s where foam is the enemy. Supplied as SUS-316 tip or SUS-316 boss. A reverse-twist L version is available on request for shafts turning the opposite direction.
Choosing It Over the Alternatives
- Foam control: the flat butterfly section moves material in bulk at low shear, the chart’s anti-foaming choice for medium viscosity
- Vessel match: above 10,000 mPa·s, choose a blade diameter of at least 60 percent of the vessel diameter; below that, a ø60 mm blade suits bench vessels from beakers to small tanks
- Multi-stage mixing: boss mount versions clamp at any height and stack two or three deep on one shaft
