Desktop NIR Rice Composition Analysis

The AN800 brought near-infrared transmittance composition analysis to the rice mill bench, reading protein, moisture, and amylose in whole brown and milled rice without crushing the sample. Operators loaded a sample, and the analyzer returned constituent values in about a minute through a keypad-driven desktop workflow.

What the AN800 Measured

  • Rice composition: Protein, moisture, and amylose in brown rice and milled rice.
  • Non-destructive: NIR transmittance read the intact sample — no grinding required.
  • Desktop operation: Keypad and display in a compact 3.8 kg unit with RS-232C output.

Service and Replacement

The AN800 is no longer manufactured. The upgraded instrument is our AN820, which delivers the same whole-grain rice composition analysis with eight factory calibrations and a 20,000-hour lamp on a current, supported platform.
