The Soft Cross in the Blade System

A soft-edged cross that keeps thin liquids moving without drawing air into them. Heidon’s blade selection chart places the Soft Cross in the anti-foaming column for thin liquids where air entrainment must be avoided. Supplied as SUS-316 tip or SUS-316 boss. A reverse-twist L version is available on request for shafts turning the opposite direction.

Choosing It Over the Alternatives

• Foam control: the chart’s anti-foaming choice for liquids around 1,000 mPa·s, cultures, and surfactant solutions
• Vessel match: above 10,000 mPa·s, choose a blade diameter of at least 60 percent of the vessel diameter; below that, a ø70 mm blade suits bench vessels from beakers to small tanks
• Multi-stage mixing: boss mount versions clamp at any height and stack two or three deep on one shaft
