Description
The Turbine in the Blade System
A radial-flow turbine that puts shear into the batch: powders wet in, emulsions form, solids dissolve. Heidon’s blade selection chart places the Turbine in the dispersing column for dispersing, emulsifying, and dissolving in thin liquids up to about 1,000 mPa·s. Supplied as SUS-316 tip, SUS-316 boss, or Titanium tip. A reverse-twist L version is available on request for shafts turning the opposite direction.
Choosing It Over the Alternatives
- Shear work: radial discharge and blade edges break agglomerates and droplets that a propeller only stirs around
- Vessel match: above 10,000 mPa·s, choose a blade diameter of at least 60 percent of the vessel diameter; below that, a ø86 mm blade suits bench vessels from beakers to small tanks
- Multi-stage mixing: boss mount versions clamp at any height and stack two or three deep on one shaft
In the Box and On the Shaft
