Description
A Viscosity Trend on a Screen Instead of a Guess
Every overhead mixer feels its batch change; this one tells you. Converted torque, calculated from the motor’s load current, and speed leave the unit as analog signals on the included output cable. Log them and a run becomes a curve: the rise as a polymer takes up solvent, the plateau when a reaction completes, the drop when an emulsion breaks. Compare batch 12 to batch 1, catch the one that drifted, and put a time on when it happened. It is a trend, not a viscosity measurement; for a calibrated torque value that can go in a report, see the TE series. The drive is the BL3000: 0.1 N·m, 50 to 3000 rpm, feedback control, reverse timers.
Solving the Hard Problems of Knowing What the Batch Did
- Overload failures that kill the mixer: The current limiter protects the motor from burning out under load. This is an instrument you service and keep, not a throw-away mixer you replace.
- Overload shutdowns that kill the batch: The same limiter keeps the motor driving through loads that cut ordinary mixers off. Your process stays running and the batch survives.
- Speed drift as the batch thickens: Automatic speed feedback compensates for rising viscosity in real time. No manual correction, no drifting results.
- Reactions you can only judge by eye: The torque trend curve shows the batch thickening, plateauing, or breaking as it happens, timestamped, on any logger you already own or the GL260 shipped ready to run.
- Unmixed layers in the vessel: Set your forward and reverse cycles once, 5 to 60 seconds each, and the mixer alternates automatically for the entire run. The ring-shaped regions that single direction mixing leaves behind never form.
Built for the Logged Bench
The spark-free brushless motor runs quietly in a sealed aluminum body weighing 2.0 kg, with a keyless collet chuck, a stop timer programmable from 30 minutes to 24 hours, and the output cable in the box. Order the GL260 data logger with the mixer and it ships configured for it. Part of the Heidon Three-One Motor line, manufactured by Shinto Scientific and sold and supported in the US by Kett, with every configuration backed by the One-Year Total Care Warranty covering parts, labor, and specification compliance.
Three ways to order. Motor Only is the drive unit alone, ready for the shafts and blades you already run. The P configuration adds the FS7 blade set and a 500 mm stainless steel shaft for a working setup out of the box. The S configuration adds the stand, completing a full mixing station.
Need a logger that is ready the day the mixer arrives? The GL260 Data Logger records torque trend and speed on ten channels and ships configured for the Three-One Motor.
Do not need the output? The BL3000 Laboratory Mixer is the same drive without the signal cable.
