How do I determine the best settings to use when configuring a moisture balance loss on drying test

If you don't have another measurement that you are comparing against, try this strategy or protocol.
1. Start with a low temperature and run a long timed test. This determines the "true moisture value" of the sample.
2. Then gradually increase the temperature. The test should provide approximately the same moisture content value.
3. When you see that the moisture value increases, it usually means more than water is being evaporated.
4. Lower the temperature at least one level. 4. Then put the instrument in automatic mode.
5. Confirm that the end result is the same as the "true" moisture value. You have now optimized temperature and processing speed.
