Choosing a Shaft Length

A shaft has to reach the bottom third of the vessel with the motor at a comfortable height on the stand. The 500 mm shaft supplied in the FS sets covers beakers and small vessels on a standard 800 mm stand; longer shafts pair with stand extensions and deeper tanks.

What to Know Before Ordering

• Length rule: shaft length roughly equals stand pole height minus the motor mount height plus vessel depth; when in doubt, size up and raise the motor
• Tip and boss mounting: tip-mount blades seat against the nut at the shaft end; boss-mount blades clamp anywhere along it
• Titanium alternative: for acids, chlorides, and solvents that attack stainless, see the titanium shaft
