Automatic Infrared Moisture Balance: Auto-Stop Modes and Data Output

An electronic loss-on-drying moisture balance that reads moisture or solid content directly and ends each test automatically when the reading stabilizes. RS-232C output documents results to a PC or printer.

Automatic Infrared Loss-on-Drying With Moisture or Solid-Content Readout

The FD610 added automatic endpoint detection and data output to Kett’s 185-watt infrared moisture balance, drying samples from 5 to 70 grams and reading either moisture or solid content directly. Two auto-stop modes ended each test when the reading stabilized, and RS-232C output sent results to a PC or printer for record-keeping.

Hands-Off Measurement and Documentation

  • Moisture or solid content: switch the display between moisture and solid-component percentage, both read directly from 0 to 100%.
  • Automatic endpoint detection: two auto-stop modes (A and B) end the test when moisture fluctuation settles, so a run does not depend on a fixed timer.
  • RS-232C output: send drying progress and final results to a PC or printer for documentation.
  • Automatic zero-taring: the balance re-zeros every 30 seconds during measurement, removing electronic-balance drift.

Service and Replacement

The FD610 is no longer manufactured. The current Kett moisture balance is the FD660 Compact Moisture Balance, Kett’s current low-cost loss-on-drying balance with simple pour-and-push operation. Contact Kett for service options or help selecting a current model.
