Loss-on-Drying Moisture Measurement That Holds Steady Where Electronics Drift
The CS10 pairs Kett’s infrared drying lamp with a purely mechanical balance, giving direct loss-on-drying moisture readings without electronic load cells. Because the balance is mechanical, it stays reliable in conditions that disturb electronic scales, including vibrating process lines, ships at sea, and other moving or unstable installations.
Built Around a Mechanical Balance
- Vibration-tolerant weighing: the mechanical balance is unaffected by the vibration and motion that destabilize electronic load cells, so readings stay consistent on the plant floor or at sea.
- Any skill level: place a weight on the weigh pan, match the sample, dry, and rebalance to read moisture directly off the dial.
- Loss on drying: a primary gravimetric method measuring real weight loss on solids and liquids across chemicals, pharmaceuticals, foods, pulp and paper, and polymers.
Service and Replacement
The CS10 is no longer manufactured. The current Kett moisture balance is the FD720 Universal Moisture Balance, which adds programmable drying modes, digital readout, and data output. The FD720 uses an electronic balance; if your application specifically requires the CS10’s mechanical balance for a high-vibration or shipboard environment, contact Kett so we can match the right instrument.
