Kett introduces the world's first handheld tribometer - - a
meter to determine the coefficient of static friction. This
ability to test in almost any situation opens new doors to
product and process assessment.
Using a voice-coil motor and frictionless slider plate,
measurements are completed within 10 seconds. Our integrated
averaging function allows large or complex surfaces to be
accurately analyzed with outstanding precision. No operator
training is required.
R&D personnel can easily test coating formulations on
finished products, not just on test panels. Manufacturing can
test products on the production line, improving quality
assessment and production throughput. Manufacturers and suppliers
can now easily test their coatings, lubricants, and finishes, to
provide the appropriate consistent surface preparation.
Manufacturers that could not previously test products - -
liquids, films, fabrics, glass, plastics, cosmetics, floor
coverings, papers, fibers, and foods can now easily test - -
accurately, precisely, quickly and simply.
The present method for providing this coefficient utilizes an
inclined test surface, a fixed mass block, and a strain gauge.
This limits testing to flat, solid test panels, and laboratory
settings. Our new 94B eliminates these constraints!
